The Bulls have dealt with some disappointment in 2009, starting when veteran QB Matt Grothe got injured for the balance of the season. Freshman QB B.J. Daniels has filled in capably, passing well on occasion and leading the team in rushing, but his play has predictably also been up and down. <\/p>\n

Thus, one of the Big East’s stronger teams will showcase their skills in a city better known for hockey excitement. \"\"<\/a> Northern Illinois requires a strong game out of QB Chandler Harnish and RB Chad Spann in order to pull out the victory. <\/p>\n

The Huskies have a strong defense; the team beat Purdue and kept it close against Wisconsin, but it’s also tough to blow people away with a 7-5 record in the MAC. I do like the Huskies’ chances, however, the reason being Northern Illinois will be amped up to play in this bowl game while USF might be a little nonplussed. <\/p>\n

If the Bulls’ defensive line terrorizes Harnish, which they certainly could, it could also make for a long day for the MAC outfit.<\/p>\n

With the CFL’s Argos and Major League Baseball’s Toronto Blue Jays, there hasn’t been much cause for excitement at ‘The Rog’ (or ‘The SkyDome’ still to many Torontonians), hopefully this season’s International Bowl gives Canadian NCAA ball fans (we exist, I’m living proof!) something to cheer about.<\/p>\n
