Another interesting Week in the NFL is almost over and as always, we were treated to some extraordinary personal performances.\u00a0 Unfortunately, there were a fair share of underwhelming stat lines too.<\/p>\n

Join me as I break down the weak and the strong efforts of Week 16 in this edition of Studs and Duds.\u00a0 Apologies to Matt Ryan, Chris Johnson, Ryan Grant, Brandon Jackson, and Zach Miller for not making the HOT list – your efforts were still in Stud contention.<\/p>\n

Stud of the Week<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Roddy White – Atlanta – <\/strong>White finally broke out of his mini slump, leaving many to wonder what might have been if Roddy had games like this in the past few.\u00a0 Roddy caught 8 balls for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns in Week 16 – amazing performance from a true Atlanta STUD.<\/p>\n

Dud of the Week<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Brandon Jacobs – NY Giants – <\/strong>Jacobs has basically been a season long bust, but his Week 16 effort has taken him to a new low.\u00a0 6 carries for 1 yard – honestly!!!\u00a0 He did leave the game with an injury in the 3rd<\/sup> quarter, but returned to sulk on the sidelines later.\u00a0 Every time that Jacobs has a chance to change the perception of his effectiveness, he lets us down – therefore he\u2019s Dud of the Week.<\/p>\n

Other Studs<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Kurt Warner – Arizona<\/strong> – Lights out against the Rams in Week 16 – would you have expected anything else?\u00a0 Warner threw for 313 yards and 2 touchdowns in a total beat down of the Rams.<\/p>\n

Tom Brady – New England<\/strong> – 4 touchdowns lands Brady back on the Stud list after a lengthy time off.\u00a0 The 4 tds. came on 23\/26 passing (incredible accuracy) and 267 yards.\u00a0 Welcome back Tom – I hope you can keep it going throughout the playoffs.<\/p>\n

Donovan McNabb – Philadelphia<\/strong> – Whew – close game!!!\u00a0 Although McNabb can look really bad at times, the numbers don\u2019t lie.\u00a0 He passed for 322 yards with 3 touchdowns, while rushing for 29 yards on 5 attempts.\u00a0 He\u2019s a Stud – no question about it.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Stewart – Carolina <\/strong>– Probably should have been Stud of the Week, but Roddy\u2019s performance was slightly better.\u00a0 Stewart gained 206 yards on the groung with a touchdown and also had 2 catches for 16 yards.\u00a0 Stewart is quickly making us forget about DeAngelo Williams – not exactly an easy thing to do.<\/p>\n

Jerome Harrison – Cleveland<\/strong> – Raise you hand if you thought that last week\u2019s 286 yards and 3 tds. was a fluke.\u00a0 Me too.\u00a0 Harrison proved us wrong with another 148 yards rushing and a touchdown.\u00a0 He\u2019s auditioning for a job foe next year folks, and seems to be winning over the coaches and management – rightfully so!!!<\/p>\n

Ray Rice – Baltimore<\/strong> – 141 yards rushing against the Steelers defense will get you mentioned in the Stud column every time.\u00a0 Rice owned the Steelers in Week 16 and proved worthy of a Stud mention.<\/p>\n

Cadillac Williams – Tampa Bay<\/strong> – It\u2019s about time that the Bucs got something from their running game.\u00a0 It helped them to a most improbable win in New Orleans.\u00a0 Williams gained 129 yards on the ground with a td. and added 3 catches for 19 yards as well.\u00a0 It only took 16 weeks, but finally Cadillac is a Stud.<\/p>\n

Randy Moss – New England<\/strong> – A public feud with the media and fans was all that it took to wake Moss up.\u00a0 In Week 16, in an important game, Moss had 4 catches for 45 yards and scored 3 touchdowns along the way – Stud.<\/p>\n

Wes Welker – New England<\/strong> – Welker\u2019s 13 catch 138 yard effort in Week 16 shouldn\u2019t surprise us at all.\u00a0 He has been absolutely amazing all year.\u00a0 Although the touchdowns aren\u2019t there, the sheer number of <\/strong>catches that he made puts him in the Studs column automatically.<\/p>\n

Anquan Boldin – Arizona<\/strong> – Boldin did most of his damage in the 1st<\/sup> half of his Week 16 game but make now mistake, it was damage.\u00a0 Boldin had 8 grabs for 116 yards and dominated an overmatched St. Louis secondary.<\/p>\n

Brent Celek – Philadelphia<\/strong> – 4 catches, 121 yards and a touchdown from the Tight End is sure-fire Stud numbers.\u00a0 Great effort to lead all Tight Ends in Week 16.<\/p>\n

Other Duds<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Vince Young – Tennessee<\/strong> – Ugh!!!\u00a0 Tennessee really had a chance to make a big statement in this game.\u00a0 Vince Young could have silenced all of the doubters on National TV.\u00a0 Instead, he served us a Dud – passing for only 86 yards 0 tds. and 2 interceptions.\u00a0 So close to Dud of the Week.<\/p>\n

Matt Hasselbeck – Seattle<\/strong> – This dude has totally digressed to poor all around Quarterback.\u00a0 Him and Marc Bulger are guys who had it for a while, but have totally lost it.\u00a0 Week 16’s 198 yards passing and 4 miserable interceptions is proof.<\/p>\n

Carson Palmer – Cincinnati – <\/strong>Of all weeks for Palmer to break from his poor passing performances, this had to be the one – up against the extremely soft Kansas City Defense.\u00a0 139 yards passing and 1 interception later (2 tds. however), Palmer remains a QB Dud.<\/p>\n

Maurice Jones-Drew – Jacksonville<\/strong> – MJD is the quintessential feast of famine player.\u00a0 One weekend he will have 3 touchdowns, and the next week, he\u2019ll turn in a dud like Week 16’s 64 yards rushing and no touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Ricky Williams – Miami<\/strong> – Injured but came back\u00a0 – maybe he shouldn\u2019t have.\u00a0 Williams ended up with 35 yards rushing and 26 yards receiving in a game the\u00a0 Dolphins NEEDED to win, but lost, thanks to this Dudly performance.<\/p>\n

Jason Snelling – Atlanta<\/strong> – Michael Turner was declared OUT again this week, leaving Snelling to shoulder the load against the league\u2019s worst run Defense. Snelling only managed 68 yards rushing in a game where his team scored 31 points.<\/p>\n

Fred Jackson – Buffalo<\/strong> – With the 1st<\/sup> and 2nd<\/sup> string QBS out for the Buffalo Bills, it was up to the running game to establish itself and keep this game close.\u00a0 Instead, Jackson offered 39 rushing yards in another of a string of Duds. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Donald Driver – Green Bay<\/strong> – Driver must have been licking his chops when he saw Seattle on the schedule this week.\u00a0 Injured or not, 3 catches for 33 yards against a poor team, when your team scores 48 points is Dudworthy.<\/p>\n

Terrell Owens – Buffalo<\/strong> – Another brutal performance for the Bills passing game.\u00a0 Although some dude named Brian Brohm was starting at QB (honestly!!!!),\u00a0 TO should have had more than 39 of the 146 yards that Brohm threw for.<\/p>\n

Kenny Britt – Tennessee<\/strong> – Had been playing well and seemed to be in a groove, until Week 16 when Britt only caught 1 pass for 13 yards – Dud.<\/p>\n

Mike Sims-Walker – Jacksonville<\/strong> – Another feast or famine player.\u00a0 This week was unfortunately a famine week in which Sims-Walker only managed 2 catches for 19 yards.<\/p>\n
