WEEK 13 STUDS AND DUDS<\/h2>\n

Week 12 is almost over and there were only 3, maybe 4 low scoring games. That means that there were a lot of points, and a lot of Studs. Strangely, for such a high scoring week, there were a lot of Duds too. Ahhhhh Fantasy Football!<\/p>\n

Apologies to Kurt Warner, Tony Romo, Knowshon Moreno, Pierre Garcon, Roddy White, and Antonio Bryant for not making the Studs list – you were all outstanding.<\/p>\n

Here, then, is Dave B\u2019s Week 13 Studs and Duds.<\/p>\n

Stud of the Week<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Drew Brees – New Orleans<\/strong> – Those of you that thought the Saints were gonna lose their 1st<\/sup> game raise your hands – don\u2019t be shy… This game proved that when you have a Stud like Brees on your team, you are never out of the game. Brees orchestrated an epic rally and ended up with 419 yards and 2 touchdowns. Absolutely unbelievable effort for this week\u2019s Stud of the Week<\/p>\n

Dud of the Week<\/strong><\/h3>\n

LeSean McCoy – Philadelphia<\/strong> – What the hell happened here? 6 rushes for 2 yards? Gotta be a misprint – don\u2019t you think. McCoy did have 3 catches for 24 yards, but its little consolation to those who were depending on McCoy this week in a juicy matchup. I don\u2019t expect to see McCoy here again, but Week 13’s performance was definitely a Dud.<\/p>\n

Other Studs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jason Campbell – Washington<\/strong> – Surprisingly dueled Brees until the end of the game, but in true Redskins style, lost in the end. Still, Campbell picked apart a pretty good Defense to the tune of 367 yards and 3 touchdowns. Enjoy your time in the Stud column Jason, I\u2019s sure you won\u2019t be here long.<\/p>\n

Chad Henne – Miami<\/strong> – The \u201cOut of Nowhere Stud\u201d award goes to Chad Henne this week, who led his team to an upset victory over the Patriots. Henne threw for 335 yards and 2 touchdowns and is another player that is destined to have a brief stay on the Studs list.<\/p>\n

Philip Rivers – San Diego<\/strong> – 373 yards and 2 touchdowns against a pretty bad Cleveland team doesn\u2019t seem like much, but that combined with his amazing accuracy (18\/25) lands Rivers on the Stud list. He did whatever he wanted in Week 13, guiding his team to an impressive 9-3 record.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Stewart – Carolina<\/strong> – No DeAngelo Williams, no problem. Steward carried the Panthers to victory with his 120 yard 1 TD. effort in Week 13.<\/p>\n

Joseph Addai – Indianapolis<\/strong> – Addai\u2019s yards per carry percentage is not that impressive, he did scored 2 big tds. He also had a hand in the time of possession dominance that the Colts had in Week 13. Joseph my man – you are a Stud this week. Addai continues to be one of the pleasant surprises in Fantasy Football this year.<\/p>\n

Cedric Benson – Cincinnati<\/strong> – This guy is a Stud because he get 30+ touches per game and is ALWAYS over 100 yards. Another solid effort for Benson in Week 13 with 36 rushes for 110 yards.<\/p>\n

Chad Ochocinco – Cincinnati<\/strong> – What a game for Chad. The passing game finally showed up for Cincinnati and Ochocinco was the main beneficiary. He managed 9 catches for 137 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 – Stud material for sure.<\/p>\n

Larry Fitzgerald – Arizona<\/strong> – Week 13 proved that Week 12 was a hiccup. This guy is a monster – the best pass catcher in the league. Stud.<\/p>\n

Anquan Boldin – Arizona<\/strong> – Awesome!<\/p>\n

Calvin Johnson – Detroit<\/strong> – Johnson, not unlike Ochicinco, has been invisible the lasty few weeks. Week 13’s <\/strong>6 catch, 123 yards and a touchdown finally gave his owners something to smile about. It\u2019s about time.<\/p>\n

Wes Welker – New England<\/strong> – What else can we say about this guy? Another 10 catches this week for 167 yards – unreal. He\u2019s a Stud – no doubt about it.<\/p>\n

Robert Meachem – New Orleans<\/strong> – 8 catches, 142 yards and a touchdown in a HUGE come from behind win in Week 13 – Stud.<\/p>\n

Devin Thomas – Washington<\/strong> – Runner up for \u201cOut of Nowhere Stud\u201d, Thomas had 7 catches for 100 yards and 2 tds. in the epic game against the Saints.<\/p>\n

Louis Murphy – Oakland<\/strong> – Bronze medalist in the \u201cOut of Nowhere Stud\u201d category – Louis Murphy. He had 4 catches, 128 yards and 2 touchdowns<\/p>\n

Santonio Holmes – Pittsburgh<\/strong> – 8 catches, 149 yards and a touckdown in Week 13 – it wasn\u2019t his fault that the Steelers lost!!!!<\/p>\n

Antonio Gates – San Diego<\/strong> – What a beast Gates is. Week 13’s stat line – 8 catches for 167 yards. He\u2019s a S-S-S-S-Stud!<\/p>\n

Other Duds<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jay Cutler – Chicago<\/strong> – Cutler must have been salivating with the prospect of breaking out of his slump against the woeful St. Louis Rams in week 13. 8 completions on 17 attempts for only 143 yards and 1 touchdown is a total disappointment – an effort that puts the nail in the \u201cFantasy Revelvance Coffin\u201d of Mr. Cutler.<\/p>\n

Kyle Boller – St. Louis<\/strong> – We know that he\u2019s a Dud, but it doesn\u2019t hurt to remind ourselves. Against the Bears in Week 13, Boller had 113 yards passing with 0 tds. and 1 interception. Ugly ugly ugly.<\/p>\n

Matt Cassell – Kansas City<\/strong> – Whew!! He doesn\u2019t seem to be worth the BIG $ that he received in the off season by the Chiefs. Week 13’s 84 yard, 2 interception performance is <\/strong>further proof. When a franchise player gets replaced by a sub-par back up (Brodie Croyle), he\u2019s a Dud. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Ryan Fitzpatrick – Buffalo<\/strong> – 9-23 passing for 98 yards and an interception of National TV on Thursday night? That\u2019s all you got? You are a Dud Mr. Fitzpatrick.<\/p>\n

Adrian Peterson – Minnesota<\/strong> – I don\u2019t know what to say!!!!<\/p>\n

Jason Snelling – Atlanta<\/strong> – Michael Turner was ruled out of todays game, paving the way for Jason Snelling to split carries with Jerious Norwood (who also could have been called a Dud this week). Snelling rumbled for a measly 35 yards on 10 carries in a stagnant Atlanta Offense. Come back Michael Turner – PLEASE!!!<\/p>\n

Houston RB’S – <\/strong>No Steve Slaton this week left Ryan Moats and Chris Brown to pick up the slack against a very soft Jacksonville Defense. 56 yards off 18 carries was all the production that the 2 could muster in a total Dud effort.<\/p>\n

Laurence Maroney – New England<\/strong> – Maroney had been making some serious noise in New England the past 5 or so games. He has been playing the best Football of his carreer and had retaken his starting RB job. Week 13’s 41 yard performance might have awakened the Belichek Running Back by Committee philosophy of the past few years.<\/p>\n

Mike Bell – New Orleans<\/strong> – Can someone tell me who the lead back in New Orleans is? If you can, you must have a crystal ball. Mike Bell appeared to be that guy. He did get 16 carries in Week 13, but only managed 34 yards. When your team scores 33 and you, as the RB #1 only get 34 yards, you are a Dud.<\/p>\n

Mike Sims – Walker – Jacksonville<\/strong> – When you are the unquestioned #1 Wide Receiver on your team and you can only manage 1 catch for 12 yards, your ticket to Dudsville is punched.<\/p>\n

Chris Chambers – Kansas City<\/strong> – 2 catches for 11 yards? We have come to expect WAY more Chris!!<\/p>\n

Terrell Owens – Buffalo<\/strong> – I know that you were shadowed by Darrelle Revis all night, but 3 catches for 31 yards (2 of those catches on the last drive) is unacceptable.<\/p>\n

Greg Olsen – Chicago<\/strong> – You really should have been Dud of the Week Greg. 1 yard receiving – BRUTAL.<\/p>\n
