By Southern Cal’s lofty standards, this season has been a disappointment no matter which way you slice it. The program has had a couple of embarassing losses to Oregon and Stanford; they took out their frustration somewhat in a 28-7 win over crosstown rival UCLA last week.<\/p>\n

Arizona is a player in the Pac-10, though, and USC will have to stay playing like they can in order to pull out the win.<\/p>\n

Transfer QB Nick Foles has been a very pleasant surprise for the Wildcats in 2009, and there has been some solid defense and special teams coming out of the desert as well. However, ‘Zona didn’t look as convincing versus its in-state rival last week, edging the Arizona State Sun Devil 20-17. <\/p>\n

If Trojans quarterback Matt Barkley can put together a performance, Trojan talent should out-shine Wildcat overachieving in the last week of the season.

\nTo pull the upset, Arizona will have to contain RB Joe McKnight and WR Damian Williams, and pressure Barkley into making some bad decisions (which he has been prone to do in 2009, 11 TD-12 INTs tells the story). <\/p>\n

Foles has weapons of his own at his disposal (RB Nic Grigsby, WR Terrell Turner and that’s without stud TE prospect Rob Gronkowski) and all units will have to be dialed in to steal a victory in L.A.<\/p>\n

It’s certainly back to the drawing board for USC next season, but the squad should be able to finish the 2009 regular season on a high note at home with a victory over the Wildcats.<\/p>\n
