NFL Week 13 Preview<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is just around the corner. It\u2019s Week 13 and the NFL playoff pictures are really starting to take form. My pick for game of the week is Tennessee at Indianapolis. The Titans are on a tear and the Colts are unbeaten in their last 11. Can the red-hot Titans come from 0-6 to .500 while snapping Indy\u2019s winning steak?<\/p>\n

Lot\u2019s of football this week with no byes, so lets get at it.<\/p>\n

Thursday, December 3 8:20 pm New York Jets (3-6) @ Buffalo Bills (4-7)<\/strong>
\nLine: New York \u20133 (Total 37)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The likelyhood of the Jets finsishing the sesaon with a postseason record in unlikely, but if they have even a sliver of a chance they need to start wining games now, starting with this one on Thursday night. The Jets\u2019 Mark Sanchez is a little banged up but is likely make the start. Terrell Ownens and Ryan Fitzpatrick looks like they may have found some chemistry but it may be a little to late coming. This is the 98th meeting between the two teams. The Bills lead 53-44. The first meeting this season on Oct. 18 saw the Jets lose 16-13 in overtime. New York has won 10 of 19 meetings this decade. Look for the Jets to win this by a field goal.<\/p>\n

Sunday, December 6 1:00 pm \u2013 St. Louis Rams (1-10) @ Chicago Bears (4-7)<\/strong>
\nLine: Chicago -9 (Total 41)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Bears have stuggled and are coming off a pounding by the Vikings, who racked up 537 yards of total offense and sacked Jay Cutler four times. Chicago needs to pick up wins against sttruggling teams and the Rams are one. Jay Cuttler needs to get his game back and lead the Bears to a win, but with 20 interceptions through 11 games it\u2019s hard to imagine much changing. Look for this to be a tight game with Chicago eeking out a win.<\/p>\n

Sunday, December 6 1:00 pm \u2013 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-10) @ Carolina Panthers (4-7)<\/strong>

Jake Delhome\u2019s broken finger could be the best thing to happen to the Panthers. Back up quarterback Matt Moore is expected to get the start for Carolina and will get the opportunity to prove himself to head coach John Fox who for some reason has stuck with Delhome despite all the picks. I am sure that Panthers fans are ready to see what someone else can do. Moore will get a prime opportunity against a Bucs team that is already sttruggling and are coming into Sunday\u2019s game with seven injured starters. The Panthers get some life and grab one at home.<\/p>\n

Sunday, December 6 1:00 pm \u2013 Oakland Raiders (3-8) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (6-5)<\/strong>
\nLine: Pittsburgh \u201313 \u00bd (Total 37 \u00bd)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Steelers are on a three-game losing skid and things could get worse. Pittsbutrgh will most likely be with out starting QB Ben Roethlisberger, still out with a concussion. Back up Dennis Dixon <\/strong>looked good for the most part in a 20-17 loss to the Ravens last week. The Raiders Bruce Gradkowski is heading to his home town where his two previous starts in Pittsburgh have been a disaster. As a rookie for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Gradkowski was 20-for-34 for 175 yards and five interceptions in a 20-3 defeat. Oakland is coming off a 24-7 loss to Dallas. Gradkowski completed 18 of 35 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions in the loss. Look for the Steelers defense to hold the Raiders just enough to end the skid.<\/p>\n

Can anybody beat the Saints? The Patriots were most likey the best candidate to end the Saints unbeaten streak, but were pounded 38-17 on Monday night. Washington\u2019s offense is all but deceased and the team has won just five of their last 19 games. There doesn\u2019t seem to be any signs of improvnment as the injuries just keep piling up. Drew Brees and the Saints should have little difficulites disposing of the Redskins in this one.<\/p>\n

Sunday, December 6 1:00 pm \u2013 New England Patriots (7-4) @ Miami Dolphins (5-6)<\/strong>
\nLine: New England \u20135 (Total 46)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Patriots showed they don\u2019t have the ability to win the big games on the road after Mondays routing by the Saints. New England\u2019s young, inexperienced secondary has a lot of work to do if the Patriots are going to be able to take down high-powered teams in the postseason. Miami\u2019s dreadful loss to Buffalo last week most likely ruined any division hopes, and possibly its overall playoff chances. The Fins fell to to the Pats 27-17 earlier in the season. Dolphins drop this one and fall three games back of the Patriots, and out of the playoff race.<\/p>\n

Sunday, December 6 1:00 pm<\/strong> \u2013 Philadelphia Eagles (7-4) @ Atlanta Falcons (6-5)<\/strong>
\nLine: Atlanta \u201313 (Total 46)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Michael Vick will return to Atlanta, the place where he became a force to be reckoned with and one has to wonder, is this the week he takes on a bigger role in the Wildcat? It could make for quite the homecoming. Atlanta will have to play without QB Matt Ryan and a banged up Michael Turner while the Eagles will be without a much needed Brian Westborrk and DeSean Jackson. This match up is critical for both teams as they head down trhe stretch. This could be preview to a wild-card game. The Falcons are very tough to beat at home, and the Eagles are battling just to get wins. The Falcons will have their hands full but will pull of a late quarter victory at home.<\/p>\n

This could prove to to be the best game of the week. Can the rejuvenated Titans, who are currently riding a five-game win streak end the Colts wild ride at 11? Peyton Manning is not playing his best football the last few weeks and the Colts have had to pull of some momentus comeback. They can\u2019t afford to fall behind to Tennesee, as the Titans\u2019 secondary will shut down any late drive by Manning. If the Titans win this game, they\u2019re back to 6-6 and right in the heart of the playoff scene. Could this be history in the making? Vince Young hasn\u2019t lost a start in two years, and I think that Sunday will be more of the same. Titans win in Indy.<\/p>\n

Sunday, December 6 1:00 pm \u2013 Denver Broncos (7-4) @ Kansas City Chiefs (3-8)<\/strong>
\nLine: Denver -4 \u00bd (Total 38)<\/strong><\/p>\n

This has all the makings of a great AFC West rivalry game. Denver is cominng off huge win over the Giants on Thanksgiving Day and with two games left against Kansas City and one at home against Oakland – appear to be in a good position to make a run for a wild-card spot. The Chiefs are tough to play at Arrowhead Stadium and have made quick work of some unsuspecting teams. I see Denver getting this one on the road to move into prime position to make a run at the division leading Chargers.
