That’s because the first two times as the visitor, the Eagles gained a COMBINED 217 yards in dropping both games in the NCAA football odds. In that second road trip against Virginia Tech, Dave Shinskie, the quarterback who had previously been a minor league baseball player, completed just one of 12 passes. Since the Virginia Tech game, Shinskie has hit on about 50% of his throws, with six TD’s and nine interceptions, so it is far from an automatic that he’ll be able to fully exploit a Maryland secondary that has yielded over eight yards a pass attempt. When Shinskie goes bad, he goes VERY bad. In fact, he threw four interceptions against the quick North Carolina defense last week, two of which were brought back all the way for touchdowns. He’ll likely need for Montel Harris, who’s racked up 721 in his last five games, to continue on that roll.<\/p>\n We really don’t know how to grade out Jamarr Robinson, who was 20 of 27 for 214 yards in the near-miss against Florida State last week on the heels of a 12-for-32 non-effort against the Hokies. Robinson gets it going on the ground, with 187 yards in the two games he’s been a starter. He is now joined by Da’Rel Scott, who had 83 yards last week as he came back from an injury.<\/p>\n Maryland has six straight losses, so it’s hard to spin a positive story about them, but we will offer that the Terps did score a home win against Clemson earlier in the season, and that we simply don’t trust Boston College on the road.
