NFL Betting Preview \u2013 Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New York Jets<\/h2>\n

The Jets have had a bye week to really get their act together. The Patriots did them a favor by handing the Dolphins a loss, but the Jets gave themselves no help by losing both matchups to Miami.<\/p>\n

With a game against Jacksonville on the board, at home coming off the bye, New York still has plenty to prove to their betting backers. A 1-4 ATS record and a 2-5 ATS record at home aren\u2019t exactly confidence boosting.<\/p>\n

Dirty Sanchez has been the headliner in New York, and though he\u2019s thrown for 1,443 yards and 8 touchdowns, he\u2019s posted 10 picks and his overall rating is an abysmal 67.6. After one of the hottest starts in the league, the Jets have fallen back to mid-pack where they belong. It\u2019s not that Sanchez is terrible; it\u2019s more that he\u2019s a rookie. And while people would love to pile the blame on Thomas Jones, he still has 704 rushing yards (4th in the AFC) and seven touchdowns (2nd in the AFC).<\/p>\n

So where does the blame go? I\u2019m not exactly sure if you can call a season where you\u2019re 4-4 SU a wash when you have a rookie head coach, a rookie quarterback, a brand new stud receiver, all sorts of new starters on defense, a new system and a running-back frustrated by the lack of a contract extension. \"\"<\/a>The Jets\u2019 front office has made it very difficult for this team to be effective this season, but all that being said I still see them as a legitimate playoff threat. Adding a win over Jacksonville will only bolster those hopes.<\/p>\n

The key to this game is simply stopping MoJo. David Garrard isn\u2019t a winner and certainly isn\u2019t proving that he can push the Jags over the top if MoJo is contained. The Jaguars are 3-2 SU but just 1-4 ATS with four consecutive losses to the betting line in hand.<\/p>\n

The Jets are fast, aggressive, hungry and fresh on the defensive side and MoJo is an incredible talent but he can be slowed down. Hey, if he can\u2019t get it done against Kansas City, then what\u2019s he going to do against the boys from New York City?<\/p>\n
