I\u2019ve never understood \u201cno love lost\u201d because of the context its often used it, but if that saying has had any meaning then it certainly applies to the clash between the Bengals and Steelers this Sunday. With dominance in the AFC North on the line, and a storied rivalry between both teams in the mix, there certainly is no love to be lost in this one\u2026largely because these teams have never liked each other to begin with.<\/p>\n

Cincinnati has ripped off an 8-3 ATS record in 11 games, including a 4-1 SU record on the road. Besides Denver (which has the looks of a momentum train that ran out of steam) no team has surprised more people than the Bengals. Carson Palmer has returned to his true form, leading an offense that scores 22.5 points per game and 218.8 yards passing while Cedric Benson is becoming an elite running-back when everyone though he was pretty much finished. The last step to redemption is toppling the defending Super Bowl Champions.<\/p>\n

That task, as proven on Monday Night Football, isn\u2019t going to be as easy as it looks. \"\"<\/a> The Steelers missed maybe two tackles that entire game and swarmed Kyle Orton and Knowshon Moreno, and pretty much anyone who touched the ball while Denver was on offense. Pittsburgh is on its way to correcting a 3-6 ATS record overall, and with a 7-2 ATS record at home, plus a 5-1 ATS record when playing Cincinnati, the NFL betting trends certainly lean in their favor.<\/p>\n

The oddsmakers know things that you don\u2019t and that\u2019s why they get paid handsomely to do what they do for a living. Cincinnati may be on a hot streak right now, but the Steelers have offensive and defensive weapons that can take down anybody (like the Vikings). I\u2019d be all over this game if it was the natural home line I thought it was. All that that inflated spread tells me is that the oddsmakers are laying a trap for Bengals\u2019 bettors.
