Time<\/strong>: Sunday 4:15 ET San Diego owns four wins this season, but all of them (Oakland twice, Kansas City and Miami) have come against under-.500 teams, and the Giants and Eagles are both formidable obstacles to the Chargers\u2019 effort to pick up ground on the 7-1 Broncos.<\/p>\n There are some signs of life in the Charger\u2019s camp. LaDainian Tomlinson had a decent running effort against the Raiders last week, the offensive line showed some signs of at least being interested in blocking, and Shawne Merriman had a couple of sacks and appears back to his old quarterback-destroying self.<\/p>\n A victory in the Meadowlands could do a lot for San Diego\u2019s fragile psyche. The Chargers\u2019 wave may have crested with that improbable playoff win in Indianapolis last season; since that day San Diego has not beaten a decent team, and the spotlight is shining brightly on coach Norv Turner and his conservative offense.<\/p>\n Questions also are being asked about the Giants, who have allowed 112 points in the last three games (all losses) and are falling like a rock in the NFC East. To be fair, the three losses (New Orleans, Arizona, Philadelphia) all came against quality teams, but that\u2019s little comfort to those backing the Giants with their wallets. The Giants have sprung so many leaks that\u2019s it hard to pinpoint a single culprit:<\/p>\n ***The secondary is ravaged by injuries. Philly\u2019s DeShaun Jackson was barely covered on Sunday, and had a field day.<\/p>\n ***The running game is going nowhere fast, as defenses have realized that if they can stop Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs, it will make things impossible for . . .<\/p>\n ***. . . Eli Manning. Manning claims that his right foot is completely healed, but the stats \u2013 five interceptions in the last two games \u2013 indicate otherwise.
