It\u2019s been a long time coming, and the venue couldn\u2019t be any more appropriate. Michael Crabtree, the only holdout remaining from the 2009 NFL Draft, will make his season debut with the Niners in his home state of Texas. It\u2019s a state that Crabtree found a tremendous amount of college success, but is the Niners\u2019 offense a place where he can continue to thrive?<\/p>\n

That all depends on how much chemistry Crabtree and Shaun Hill have developed over the past two weeks. Hill has been one of the steadier quarterbacks to lead the Niners in recent memory, and has even been stern enough to pull Vernon Davis\u2019 lifeless body out of the gutter. The Niners average 22.4 points per game, and are coming off a 45-10 shellacking at the hands of the Falcons. They\u2019ve had a bye week to think about it, but now face a Houston team that is this year\u2019s betting flip-flopper.<\/p>\n

If you keep track of betting trends, this one\u2019s a keeper: Houston is the only team with a winning record that hasn\u2019t strung a winning streak together. So while the Texans are an even match in the passing game, with Andre Johnson and Matt Schaub, it\u2019s their defense that will ruin them.<\/p>\n

The Texans allow 140.0 yards on the ground when defending their home turf, and while all eyes will be focused on Crabtree, it\u2019s the return of Frank Gore that has me excited for the Niners. Coming of a devastating loss to a fellow NFC contender, and a bye week, the Niners have way more to prove in this game. Whether Crabtree gets the job done, or Gore, will not matter. The Niners can\u2019t afford to lose this one, and Houston doesn\u2019t have the defense to keep San Fran off the betting board.<\/p>\n
