CLICK HERE FOR THE BEST NCAA FOOTBALL WEEK 6 GAMBLING PICKS!! —–><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Syracuse: 5-12 SU in their last 17 home games Two of the Big East\u2019s most storied football programs will take the field against each other Saturday, as West Virginia travels north to take on the Syracuse Orange.<\/p>\n For West Virginia, it has been business as usual for the most part this season, as they\u2019ve opened with a 3-1 start. Offensively, the West Virginia Mountaineers haven\u2019t missed a beat, despite losing quarterback Pat White to graduation and the NFL.<\/p>\n In his place has stepped Jarrett Brown and the fifth year senior has been spectacular, throwing for close to 1000 yards and seven touchdowns in his four games under center. But, as good as he\u2019s been at times, Brown has also become somewhat mistake prone, throwing five interceptions as well.<\/p>\n Brown is joined in West Virginia\u2019s backfield by several other skill position stars, including one of the top running backs in college football, Noel Devine. A junior, Devine is already making a strong push for the Big East Offensive Player of the Year award, as he\u2019s rushed for 576 yards and six touchdowns on the season, including a staggering 220 yard performance last Thursday against Colorado.<\/p>\n Defensively the Mountaineers were good early, but have struggled as of late, giving up 24 points a week ago and 41 the game before that against Auburn.<\/p>\n As for Syracuse, it\u2019s never easy for the former Big East power, however the program is showing signs of life under first year coach Doug Marrone. Marrone has quickly improved an offense that was one of college football\u2019s worst a year ago. This group is led by quarterback Greg Paulus, and one of the nation\u2019s most accomplished wide receivers in Mike Williams, whose 41 receptions in fourth in college football.<\/p>\n In this game, the key won\u2019t be who has the better offense or defense, but who can simply hold onto the ball. Each of these teams has turned the ball 14 times already this season, tied for 107th in college football. Last Saturday against South Florida was an especially tough day for Syracuse as they turned the ball over seven times, including a staggering five interceptions for Paulus. West<\/p>\n Virginia was hardly in their game with Colorado, turning the ball over four times.<\/p>\n So who ya got in this one? While Syracuse isn\u2019t nearly the high-scoring juggernaut that West Virginia is, they always seem to play better in the comfortable home confines of the Carrier Dome. And even though they don\u2019t have a sparkling record to show for things, they usually keep games closer than expected. They should do the same Saturday.<\/p>\n
