Let\u2019s knock \u2019em dead again with some more rock-solid NFL picks<\/a>.<\/p>\n VIKINGS (-10) over RAMS <\/strong><\/p>\n In a week full of lopsided matchups, the Vikings are the safest bets to cover their spread. The Packers and 49ers lit the Rams up already, yet the Vikings beat them both. What, then, will Minnesota do to the Rams? Marc Bugler and Kyle Boller have been JaMarcus-Russell-bad this season, so Jared Allen, who terrorized Aaron Rodgers last Monday, could have a field day against whichever guy starts. The Vikings\u2019 \u201cD\u201d alone could score double-digit points; FALCONS (+2.5) over 49ERS <\/strong><\/p>\n It\u2019s not that I don\u2019t believe in the 49ers\u2019 sportsbook odds of continued success; it\u2019s just that I don\u2019t believe they\u2019re quite as good as they look so far. Yes, Mike Singletary has them playing inspired defense, but good quarterbacks like Kurt Warner and Brett Favre actually moved the ball just fine against San Francisco through the air. Matt Ryan could have similar success. The Falcons\u2019 run defense is porous but won\u2019t face Frank Gore, who is still sidelined with an ankle injury. If fill-in Glen Coffee couldn\u2019t gouge the Rams last week, he\u2019s no sure bet to have a big game Sunday. Lastly, Shaun Hill still hasn\u2019t expanded beyond caretaker status, so I\u2019m not convinced the 49ers will score enough to win.<\/p>\n CARDINALS (-5-5) over TEXANS <\/strong><\/p>\n Betting software<\/a> predicts a shootout in this matchup and that\u2019s probably a pretty safe bet, as both teams feature potent offenses. However, I like the Cardinals to cover, as \u201csexy\u201d as the Texans\u2019 offense may be. The Cardinals are well-rested after a bye week and should be angry after the Colts humiliated them at home in Week 3. Kurt Warner should light up a brutal Texans\u2019 defense and the Cardinals will hold the Texans better than expected. They\u2019ll get beat through the air but they should handle Steve Slaton and the Houston running game just fine.
