Trust me, it\u2019s easy to say things like \u201cTom Brady isn\u2019t the same anymore\u201d three weeks in to the season. But if you\u2019re ready to crown Super Bowl Champions after less than a month of NFL betting, then you\u2019re an idiot. Tom Brady is riding a slow rehab curve back to becoming one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the league. Can you blame the guy for being worried about his knee and playing a little scared? All it took was a loss to the Jets to shake him out of his rut, and now Brady is proving it will take time, but he will be peaking late in the season, which means the Patriots could be deadly in the playoffs.<\/p>\n

That being said, with a loss to the Jets already blemishing their records, they can\u2019t afford another loss to an AFC contender. The Baltimore Ravens are undefeated and riding the shoulders of an emerging Joe Flacco to victory. \"\"<\/a>They\u2019ve averaged 273.7 yards per game through the skies, and notched 156.7 yards on the ground with Ray Rice doing the dirty work and Willis McGahee bashing in to the endzone. This is a team that can punish defenses every which way, and the Patriots haven\u2019t exactly been efficient on defense.<\/p>\n

Richard Seymour may have been overrated, but he was still the best pass rusher that New England had. Without him, the New England defense is having trouble adjusting, and against an overrated Falcons defense they were able to secure just 10 points against. Baltimore is much better on offense, so it\u2019ll be a long day for a Patriots\u2019 defense that lacks talent and strength.<\/p>\n

Unless both offenses come out nervous and conservative, this game is throttling the OVER. The TOTAL is low because the UNDER has been held in 4-of-5 between these two in Foxboro. The reason I say the OVER is a lock is because the Baltimore defense is not what it used to be. They\u2019ve given up 25.0 points per game when you wipe that 34-3 win over Cleveland from the stat sheet. New England is averaging 20.0 points per game and is getting better every week.<\/p>\n

Baltimore has been a solid bet so far, going 5-1 ATS on the road and and 7-1 ATS overall in their last 8. New England Patriots has carried over a 4-11 ATS record at home and while they\u2019re 5-0 SU when playing Baltimore, this is a more balanced offensive attack that can threaten anybody.<\/p>\n

I still say that the Patriots are playoff contenders, but Baltimore is firing on all cylinders right now. They\u2019ve given you on reason to bet against them this year, so don\u2019t do it just because it\u2019s Brady and the Patriots. Later in the season, I may be siding with the Pats, but for this weekend in Week 4 betting, I\u2019m going with Baltimore.<\/p>\n
