Week 3 Hot and Not<\/h2>\n

If you are in need of a HOT fantasy football player these Top Hot players<\/strong> for the week should help you out if they\u2019re in your lineup. They may also be free agents on your waiver wire<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you need to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS should be them.\u00a0Throw em in the trash if you can afford to not have them on your bench. Fantasy Football<\/strong><\/a> always favors the prepared mind.<\/p>\n

The more research you do, and the more HOT players you have to choose from on your team, the better your odds are of winning your fantasy football league outright this year.<\/p>\n

This week\u2019s Hot and Not is more about trends rather than one week performances.\u00a0 Some have strung together 2 good games and with these performances, show no signs of slowing down.\u00a0 On the flip-side, some players have underachieved through the 1st<\/sup> 2 weeks, leaving the Fantasy Football world to wonder if their guy is destined to be a bust.<\/p>\n

HOT<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1. Drew Brees – New Orleans<\/strong> – 669 yards and 9 TDS.!!!!!\u00a0 Unbelievable.\u00a0 Everything is clicking for the Saints – don\u2019t see it slowing down anytime soon.\u00a0 I might as well tattoo his name into this column for the rest of the year.<\/p>\n

2. Eli Manning – NY Giants<\/strong> – How good does it feel to come in and beat the hated Cowboys in their brand new house?\u00a0 Eli was good in the opener, superb in Week 2.\u00a0 Tampa, KC, Oakland, New Orleans and Arizona coming up\u00a0 – cha ching!!!!!!<\/p>\n

3. Chris Johnson – Tennessee <\/strong>– With 284 combined yards and 3 TD\u2019s. this week, he\u2019s Megan Fox hot. Top 3 most explosive players in the NFL and Fantasy Gold.<\/p>\n

4. Willis McGahee – Baltimore<\/strong> – The unquestioned goal-line back in a high powered offense, McGahee\u2019s obvious commitment in the off season has turned him into a Touchdown machine.\u00a0 Cleveland, New England and Cincinnati. Are next up, so there is no reason that Willis\u2019s hot streak won\u2019t continue.<\/p>\n

5. Cedric Benson – Cincinnati<\/strong> – Who would have seen this coming.\u00a0 \u201cThe Afterthought\u201d has been stellar for the Bengals this year.\u00a0 Not only is he getting ALL the touches out of the backfield, but he is producing like a #1 Draft Choice.\u00a0 Don\u2019t think it will continue against Pittsburgh – But he looks like he could be the steal of this year\u2019s draft when all is said and done.<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0 Darrin Sproles – San Diego<\/strong> – Taking full advantage of LT\u2019s ineptitude and his injuries.\u00a0 Looks like Tomlinson will be out again this week and like the Chargers will be in no rush to get him back.\u00a0 Ride the little man!<\/p>\n

7. Steve Smith – NY Giants<\/strong> – Plax is gone, the Giants won\u2019t have a passing game right???\u00a0 Wrong!\u00a0 Steve is stepping up and Eli has a lot of confidence in him.\u00a0 Double Digit targets in both games and a stat line to back it up makes him Hot.<\/p>\n

8. Santonio Holmes – Pittsburgh<\/strong> – The Steelers are a passing team – hard to believe.\u00a0 The combination of a poor running game and a newfound mojo in the passing game has made Santonio a monster this year.\u00a0 14 catches and over 200 yards so far this year – nuff said.<\/p>\n

9. Tony Gonzalez – Atlanta<\/strong> – Seems to be the missing piece of the puzzle in Atlanta.\u00a0 He has been a beauty this year – capable of picking up a much needed 1st<\/sup> down and hauling in a score or 2.\u00a0 You don\u2019t think he\u2019s happy to be out of KC?<\/p>\n

10. Brent Celek – Philadelphia<\/strong> – Not even an unexpected change at QB has slowed him down so far.\u00a0 Brent is as steady a performer as there is in the league this year.\u00a0 If you drafted him – congrats.<\/p>\n

11. Redskins DST <\/strong>– Holding teams down, getting sack and turnovers.\u00a0 Play Detroit this week – any questions?<\/p>\n

NOT<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1. Mark Bulger – St. Louis <\/strong>– a reconstructed O-Line made for optimism in the off season, but it hasn\u2019t translated on the field.\u00a0 Despite being down in both games this year, Bulger hasn\u2019t even come close to 200 yards passing. Only a matter of time before he\u2019s on crutches, waiting for free agency and his time to be a quality backup for a contending team. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

2. Brady Quinn – Cleveland <\/strong>– Paging Derek Anderson!!!\u00a0 The Browns just can\u2019t get it done.\u00a0 Not much hope on the horizon either.<\/p>\n

3. \u201cNot So Fast\u201dWillie Parker<\/strong> – Ugh!\u00a0 Blame the injury, blame the lack of reps. In the preseason, blame George Bush for being a boob – the fact is that Willie is done.\u00a0 Another member of the Shaun Alexander\/Edge James\/ Jamal Lewis Slippery Slope Club!\u00a0 Only thing going for him is that his backups are just as bad.<\/p>\n

4. Matt Forte – Chicago<\/strong> – Early candidate for the \u201cBust of the Year\u201d HAS to right the ship this weekend, or he will be riding a lot of Fantasy Pine.\u00a0 The Bears have been competitive this year – no thanks to Matt.\u00a0 Barely over 100 combined yards in 2 games isn\u2019t gonna get it done.<\/p>\n

5. Ryan Grant – Green Bay<\/strong> – Although he has scored in the 1st<\/sup> 2 game, combined yards of 61 and 68 in those games is a true disappointment.\u00a0 Nobody is scared of the Pack\u2019s running game, forcing Aaron Rogers to carry the team.\u00a0 C\u2019mon Ryan, you are bringing the whole offense down!!<\/p>\n

6. Brian Westbrook – Philadelphia<\/strong> – Here we go again – Fragile Brian might miss another week.\u00a0 The Dude can\u2019t stay healthy and is in real danger of losing his starting job to McCoy.\u00a0 Are Westbrook and Willie Parker the same guy?<\/p>\n

7. Steve Slaton – Houston<\/strong> – Last year\u2019s Waiver Wire Darling, Steve came into this year with huge expectations.\u00a0 So what the hell happened?\u00a0 Slippery Steve can\u2019t hold onto the ball and when he does, he can\u2019t get away from defenders.\u00a0 Slaton is perilously close to losing his job to castoff – Chris Brown.<\/p>\n

8. Terrell Owens – Buffalo<\/strong> – Maybe with the season ending injury to Derek Shouman will result in a few more targets for TO.\u00a0 So far, Owens has been like a WR3 being paid WR1 money.\u00a0 He seems lost in an offense that is anything but high powered.\u00a0 I wonder if TO likes his role as a high priced decoy?<\/p>\n

9. Eddie Royal and Brandon Marshall – Denver <\/strong>– Both being outplayed by Brandon Stokely and Jabar Gaffney right now.\u00a0 Kyle Orton has never had such weapons at his disposal, and it seems that he doesn\u2019t know how to use them.\u00a0 I see it being a LONG year for the duo – trade them now if you can.<\/p>\n

10. Santana Moss – Washington<\/strong> – You might get a few 100+ yard games from him this year, but you will have to suffer through a bunch of 20 yard games.\u00a0 If you subscribe to that formula, he\u2019s probably due because he has been awful so far this year.<\/p>\n

11.\u00a0 Dallas DST<\/strong> – Giving up points like Oprah gives up on diets!<\/p>\n
