There\u2019s much debate over whether Tebow will be an effective NFL quarterback since he relies so heavily on his downhill running. But for now, he\u2019s a Gator, and a huge spread is his to protect against Tennessee this weekend.<\/p>\n

The other attention grabbing headlines involve an emerging feud between Tennessee head coach, Lane Kiffin, and Urban Meyer of Florida. \"\"<\/a> Kiffin, who is cutting his teeth as a head coach in college this year, has promised a victory over Florida. I\u2019m used to Rasheed Wallace and Joe Namath guaranteeing victory. But a coach? Hardly.<\/p>\n

The Volunteers have amassed 435.5 total yards per game, and have posted 39.0 points per game this season but are just 1-1 SU this season. On top of that, they\u2019ve been flattened by the Gators in the past two years, losing 30-6 in 2008 and 59-20 in 2007. Overall, they\u2019re 2-3-1 ATS when playing on the road in Gainesville and are just 1-4 ATS overall.<\/p>\n

The worst thing they could do is stoke the fire against a Gators team that plays with a chip on its shoulder every time they take the field. Tebow is vindictive, and out to reclaim the Heisman trophy he lost to Sam Bradford last year. They\u2019ve managed to accrue a strong spread record against Tennessee, but a near 30-point tilt in their favor is difficult to imagine, especially with Lane and Monte Kiffin in Tennessee this year.<\/p>\n

Florida has managed to demolish their two opponents this year by an average differential of -54.5 points. However, Tennessee is a whole different opponent, especially with the heat of the SEC rivalry on the line. While I don\u2019t expect Tennessee to win this game at all, I do expect them to cover the spread. Anything can go wrong on a football field, especially in the SEC, and I\u2019d rather air on the side of caution then vehemently back the Gators with a 4.5 score spread like the oddsmakers have.<\/p>\n
