Cole Hamels\u2019 overall numbers don\u2019t reflect the fact that he\u2019s pitched better of late. More importantly, he now enters his best month, September, where his ERA is 2.70. He should shut down the Giants and, even if he doesn\u2019t, the Phillies will give him plenty of run support. Jonathan Sanchez does have a good start against the Phillies this season but he walks tons of batters and struggles on the road (4.81 ERA). Go with the home team.<\/p>\n<p>Online betting pick: Phillies<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, September 2, 7:05 p.m. ET<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tim Lincecum (13-4, 2.33) vs J.A. Happ (10-3, 2.63) <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tough one to call here, as both guys seem so unhittable right now.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"margin: 1px; border: 3px solid #ffffff;\" src=\"http:\/\/baff.betonline.com\/aspx\/affiliateGetImage.aspx?ID_SC=2225&amp;ID_I=1878\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" \/> We know what we get with the superstar Lincecum; he gives his team a chance to win every time he takes the mound, he shut out the Phillies once already this season and he\u2019s never lost to them in five career starts. He also does a great job keeping the ball in the park, allowing just eight homers in 193.1 innings pitched so far this season.<\/p>\n<p>Though J.A. Happ has been an absolute revelation for the Phillies this season, he does his best work on the road, where he\u2019s 8-2 with a 1.88 ERA. At home, he\u2019s still 4-1 but his ERA is twice as high at 3.77. It\u2019s good <a href=\"http:\/\/payperhead.com\/\">betting management<\/a> to bet under the total in this matchup and you should lean toward Lincecum in the end.<\/p>\n<p>Online betting pick: Giants<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, September 3, 7:05 p.m. ET<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Barry Zito (9-11, 3.94) vs Pedro Martinez (2-0, 4.50) <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Who would\u2019ve expected that these two hurlers would be pitching meaningful September innings this season? Imagine sports betting online on that happening? If you did, you\u2019re rich now. Pedro Martinez is teaming with Jamie Moyer to form an effective tandem of veteran hurlers. Barry Zito is pitching better than he has in years, allowing three or fewer runs in nine straight starts and sporting a 1.92 ERA over that span.<br \/>\nStrange stat: even though Zito is historically homer prone, he\u2019s allowed just one long ball in 24 innings over four career starts against the Phillies \u2013 three of them wins. He\u2019s tough on lefties, allowing just three homers to them this season, and he\u2019s thus a tough matchup for the likes of Ryan Howard, who struggles against left-handed pitchers.<\/p>\n<p>It won\u2019t be easy for him, but it\u2019s hard not to back Zito considering how well he\u2019s pitching right now.
