2008 Record: 9-7 The Dallas Cowboys enter the 2009 season completely opposite from last year.<\/p>\n Last year, the Cowboys had two first-round picks, had added Zach Thomas in the offseason, then added Tank Johnson and Roy Williams during the season. For many Cowboys fans, the moves meant that it was Super Bowl or bust in Dallas.<\/p>\n The mood this year is completely different. The press is quiet, there are no more distractions and the team is simply ready to play football. Since they aren\u2019t getting much attention, the Cowboys are even flying under the radar. Although Terrell Owens is no longer around, the Cowboys still have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL.<\/p>\n Williams has had his best offseason, which likely means great things for him this season. With a Pro Bowl tight end in Jason Witten, three good running backs, a sturdy offensive line and a Pro Bowl triggerman, the Cowboys are not short of much on offense.<\/p>\n On defense, the Cowboys are similarly loaded. They have Pro Bowl talent littered all over the place and if young corners Mike Jenkins and Orlando Scandrick keep on growing, this is going to be a daunting unit to play against.<\/p>\n With Owens gone, the difference on this team two-fold: coaching and leadership.<\/p>\n Starting with coaching, the Cowboys have two geniuses in Garrett and Wade Phillips. Phillips has coordinated some dominant defenses and Garrett is as creative a mind on offense that you can find. But there can be no more underachieving for this team or both guys will be out of work at the end of the year.<\/p>\n Secondly, the Cowboys need leaders. As much of a mouthpiece as Owens was, he led the way in Dallas and led the team\u2019s demise.
