\nWe’ve mentioned the ‘backers: MSU got rolled by Penn State 49-18 last season, but it’s the Spartans that have a Nittany Lions-esque linebacker group in ’09. In the secondary, cornerbacks Ross Weaver and Chris L. Rucker (his brother Chris D. Rucker is a wideout on the team) represent size and athleticism. Nichol should be more dynamic than Hoyer was and senior WR Blair White should produce heartily after 43 receptions in 2008.<\/p>\n
\nThe offensive line breaks in a couple new starters in Jared McGaha and Canadian J’Michael Deane. With the notable exception of end Trevor Anderson’s eight sacks, the D-line is pretty underwhelming.
