Dave’s Early Sleepers — Quarterbacks<\/strong><\/p>\n The term Sleeper is a tough one to grasp unless you are in DEEP league.\u00a0 The term itself implies that somebody has the chance to come out of nowhere and be an occasional starter for your Fantasy Football team.<\/p>\n Over the past few seasons, Under-valued, has become the sexy term to describe someone who has the potential to out perform their draft position.\u00a0 Under-valued is the more useful term, and one for which I will base this Sleepers article on.<\/p>\n When determining my Sleepers<\/strong>, I looked at depth charts, position battles, team philosophy, Average Draft Position (ADP) and of course the player themselves.<\/p>\n Here we go.<\/p>\n 1.\u00a0 David Gerrard – Jacksonville. <\/strong>– David Gerrard seems to be a consensus Sleeper this year.\u00a0 With an Average Draft Position (ADP) of 128, Gerrard has defiantly slipped out of favor with the FF public.\u00a0 12th\u00a0Round for an experienced QB with decent weapons seems a bit low doesn’t it?\u00a0 David has done all he can to turn off Fantasy footballers.<\/p>\n Out are the distractions of Matt “It’s only baking powder” Jones and Fred (too easy to come up with a nickname) Taylor and in with a new weapon (Torry Holt), and a newly crowned unquestioned, unparalleled feature back, Maurice Jones Drew.\u00a0 Add in the fact that Gerrard will get you a couple of scores on the ground and you have the recipe for a good year.\u00a0 If you believe in Drew you have to like Gerrard.<\/p>\n 2.\u00a0 Trent Edwards – Buffalo. <\/strong> – Will Edwards finally realize his potential this year?\u00a0 I am betting on Yes.\u00a0 Edwards is another player that is slipping late into draft with an average ADP of 129.\u00a0 In the 12th\u00a0Round, you can certainly do worse!\u00a0\u00a0 20 tds is a certainty with the weapons he has at his disposal.\u00a0 A motivated Terrell Owens is auditioning for a long term, big money contract and Lee Evans is more than a quality 2nd\u00a0option.\u00a0 Add in 2 capable RB’s and Trent looks poised for a breakout season this year.<\/p>\n 3.\u00a0 Matt Hasselbeck – Seattle.<\/strong> – Mark my words folks, Seattle will have a good offensive season this year.\u00a0 1 year removed from a draft where Matt was a consensus starter on most fantasy football teams.\u00a0 Plus he comes into the season healthy and with a new toy in TJ Houshmandzadeh, and a sure handed, stud-to-be TE John Carlson.\u00a0 25 TD’s. \u00a0Is not too bad for a guy that you can pick up in the 13th\u00a0round.\u00a0 If Hasselbeck can remain healthy this year, he has the potential to emerge as your starter in a weakish division.<\/p>\n Just IMAGINE you can finally set your sunday lineups with confidence!
