This used to be one of the NFL\u2019s best rivalries, and it\u2019s no secret that Oakland owner Al Davis and Denver coach Mike Shanahan despise each other. The problem is that the Raiders haven\u2019t been very good the last three years, winning a total of 10 games, while Denver has won five out of the last six meetings between these two rivals.<\/p>\n
That said, there\u2019s still a lot of hope for Raiders\u2019 backers. Oakland has\u00a0 covered the spread the last four times they\u2019ve met and won the last game, 34-20 in Week 13. The Raiders\u2019 defense held Denver quarterback Jay Cutler to 50% passing in that game, no touchdowns and two picks.<\/p>\n
Cutler is hoping to have better success this time around, but it might not be easy with suspended wide receiver Brandon Marshall. Denver feels they can run the ball on anyone with their zone blocking scheme and Oakland was poor in that area last year.<\/p>\n
Oakland has a talented, yet inexperienced quarterback in JaMarcus Russell, and they will keep the offense conservative. Look for the three-headed rushing attack of Darren McFadden, Justin Fargas and Michael Bush to expose the Broncos\u2019 suspect run defense.<\/p>\n
Points could be at a premium in this game, and that makes the 41 point Total very interesting.<\/p>\n
