Game 1 couldn’t have been uglier for the Magic: 100-75 loss, 29 per cent from the field, and only 12 points for Dwight Howard. The hot shooting that carried the Magic throughout the first three rounds en route to the NBA Championship odds totally eluded them, as their jittery guards tossed up brick after brick. Kobe Bryant put on a Tour-de-Force performance for the Lakers with 40 points and eight assists. If Kobe can spread the ball and <\/em>score like that throughout the series, it could be a cakewalk for the Lakers.<\/p>\n

However, one game isn’t a whole series. The Magic earned their way here and should be much better in Game 2. Odds are, some shots that didn’t fall in Game 1 will fall next time around and we know Dwight Howard will leave it on the floor. Still, the Lakers will be playing at home again and can still hurt the Magic in so many different ways since Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum can score inside. The Magic will keep it close – enough to beat the spread – but the Lakers will win again.<\/p>\n
