Honestly – who knows what to expect out of the Chip Kelly-led Philadelphia Eagles<\/strong> this year. The Eagles made wholesale changes to the team. Sam Bradford is the new starting QB, DeMarco Murray is the new RB in town and rookie WR Nelson Agholor is going to be expected to contribute immediately in 2015.<\/p>\n With all the changes – there’s no predicting where the Eagles will end up in the NFC East.<\/p>\n NFL Week 1 Matchup Analysis<\/a><\/strong> Philadelphia Eagles<\/a><\/strong> We touched on a few of the moves the Eagles made this off-season already, but they were busy. Byron Maxwell , Kiko Alonso and Brad Jones will be relied upon to improve the Eagles defense, which struggled mightily in 2014.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63753&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n Casey Matthews, Trent Cole, Bradley Fletcher, Cary Williams, Nate Allen and Jeremy Maclin are all gone.<\/p>\n Eric Rowe and Jordan Hicks will add more youth to the defense – both rookies will see plenty of playing time. The Eagles are a younger team, but you have to be worried about the QB situation due to Bradford’s constant injuries.<\/p>\n Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley and Tim Tebow are the back-ups currently, so Bradford must stay healthy.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n I believe the Eagles stand a chance to win the NFC East if Bradford stays healthy and takes well to the move to Philly, but if he goes done, the Eagles are done. Murray will regress, as the Eagles o-line isn’t as good as the Cowboys o-line.<\/p>\n While I believe the Eagles have a chance to win the NFC East – a lot has to go right for this team. There are just way too many questions to bet on the Eagles at +150 odds, as one big hit to Bradford this season could kill the futures bet.<\/p>\n I suppose we’ll find out whether Kelly can transform this offense into a powerhouse. Last year the Eagles ranked 3rd in points scored (29.6 PPG), so I’m a little surprised that Kelly went out and made the moves he did.<\/p>\n However, if this offense can gel together, they’re going to be real good. Ryan Matthews was also brought in and Philly now have tons of depth at RB, which also includes Darren Sproles and Kenjon Barner.<\/p>\n Despite having one of the best offenses in 2014 – the Eagles didn’t make the playoffs. The defense ranked 22nd in points allowed (25.0 PPG), but I really like the additions made to the defense and I expect improvement.<\/p>\n The NFC East has proven to be wildly unpredictable in recent years with all four teams winning the division.<\/p>\n It wouldn’t shock me if the Giants or Redskins surprise everyone and win the division. I’m not convinced the Eagles made the right moves this off-season and I believe they’ll regress from their 10 wins last season.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n The Eagles schedule is pretty tough as well. They open up on the road in Atlanta, which they’ll likely lose in a shootout and then they play the Cowboys. The Eagles also play the Saints, Patriots, Bills, Dolphins, Cardinals and Lions.<\/p>\n None of those games will be easy wins and then they still have to navigate their NFC East match-ups.<\/p>\n I’m not touching the Eagles in the futures markets this year. The Eagles regular season win total is set at 9 games and I lean under, but wouldn’t touch this market unless I was able to get under 10 games at -150 odds or better.<\/p>\n The 2015 NFL futures betting<\/a> season is right around the corner!
