MLB Sportsbook Bad Beats

Bad Beats: Sportsbook Rule Interferes With Sure Win

Rules are rules … sucky, freakin’ rules.

Sometimes a sportsbooks rules help us. But more often it seems they don’t.

Everytime one goes against us, it acts as a reminder that the odds are stacked heavily against us. Take Friday’s Brewers-Tigers tilt in Detroit.

June 22nd, 2009 Top 10 MLB Power Rankings

MLB Power Rankings – Red Sox, Angels and Rockies Heat Up

The Dodgers and Rangers continue to provide gamblers with profits, but it’s the Los Angeles Angels and Colorado Rockies who all of a sudden are becoming hot in the BetUS online sportsbook.

The Angels in particular are starting to look like a difficult team for other A.L. teams to handle. The Red Sox continue to win and the Rockies?

Well, the Rockies are just beating good teams without looking like they’re trying.

MLB Preview: Astros vs. Rangers Betting

Thursday Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers Preview

The “Lone Star Series” picks back up Thursday night from the beautiful Ballpark in Arlington when the Houston Astros (29-34, -$400) and Texas Rangers (37-27, +$1213) lock horns for their sixth and final MLB betting match-up of the 2009 season.

Last night was supposed to be all about Catcher Ivan Rodriguez who broke Carlton Fisk’s record for the most games caught (2,227), but the Rangers took advantage of three Astros errors and got the best of Houston for the fifth time this season.

MLB Interleague Gambling & Handicapping Tips

MLB: USEFUL BETTING INFO

Sometimes in sports betting, particularly in baseball, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the day-to-day grind and possibly overlook some obvious and powerful numbers.

For instance, with Interleague play in full swing again this week, did you know that the Minnesota Twins are 19-5 in their last 24 games versus the National League?

That would have been nice to know before their weekend series at the Cubs, right?

MLB Baseball Handicapping Bad Beats

Ben Burns – Bad Beats

What in the world was in the Gatorade this week?

(Vodka goes best, by the way).

Pop-ups were causing havoc in New York and Tampa. Birds were doing the same in Cleveland. And in Chicago, Milton Bradley still doesn’t have a clue.

We’ll start at the backyard known as the new Yankee Stadium, where Gold Glove-second baseman Luis Castillo handed Mets’ backers an atrocious bad beat that may not be topped this season.

MLB Handicapping: National League Pitching

Baseball Betting: NL Pitchers Report

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the talk of the National League after rolling to baseball’s best record in the first two months of the season. Sparking that dominance is a superb start by the rotation, which boasts the major’s lowest staff ERA.

Two of the biggest contributors are Chad Billingsley and Eric Stults, who had combined for over 11 betting units as of Wednesday. And despite the MLB moneylines on Los Angeles hovering around -200, these two arms continue to make a bundle with the best team in the bigs behind them.

MLB Handicapping: American League Pitching

Baseball Betting: AL Pitchers Report

Betting pitchers is like riding the city bus – you’ve got to know when to get on, and you’ve got to know when to get off.  Some rides last only a few starts before sportsbooks adjust the betting odds, while other arms can boost your bankroll for the entire season.

Leading the American League money rankings is Los Angeles Angels righthander Matt Palmer, who is 5-0 with an ERA just over 4.00 but will likely be used out of the bullpen for the remainder of the season now that Kelvim Escobar has returned from the DL.

Burns’ Bad Beats: Hinch manages D’Backs to loss

Going by the Book guarantees nothing.

But it would be nice if your manager at least acted like he was aware when he was taking huge statisical gamble.

For example, in Tuesday’s Diamondbacks-Dodgers game, Arizona manager A.J. Hinch’s squad was in a bind.

Is Baseball Betting For You?

Why bet Baseball?  The answer is simplicity

By Tony George

Each year I write something that pertains to this subject.  Let me preface by saying that baseball is my least favorite spectator sport as a fan of the game, straight up or with action on it.  I am a huge College Football fan, being from Nebraska I have no choice, as well as NFL, NCAA Hoops (what’s better than March madness, really?) as well as the NBA.

MLB Baseball Cappers Tips

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL HANDICAPPING

Baseball begins and ends with pitching. Because of the number of games and the length of the season, the sport lures as many investors as the others. The structure of odds… no point spread… and the nature of the game however, with the disproportionate emphasis on pitching, baseball must be treated in a different way.
