Oklahoma City has taken the first two games of the season series.

Oklahoma City

Unable to string together any type of winning streak, Oklahoma City looks to get back to the .500 mark Wednesday night in Sacramento. They’ll welcome in new SG Dion Waiters who was acquired in a 3 team deal Monday night. Waiters averaged 10.5 points and 2.2 assists a game with the Cavaliers.

Rumored to be departing in the deal, PG Reggie Jackson learned that he was not involved in the trade later Monday night. Jackson has struggled to get playing time and be productive for the Thunder on the offensive end. With the news that he will be sticking around, he can expect an even less amount of time on the floor as Waiters will likely take minutes away from him.

Obtaining Waiters may be the boost the Thunder need offensively. With only Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook scoring, they’ll look to Waiters to pick up some of the slack and get Oklahoma City back on track. Westbrook and Durant combine for an average of 51.5 points a game this season. Contributions from the rest of the starters and bench have been coming sparingly throughout the season.

Oklahoma City has won both match ups with Sacramento this season, with one of those being on the Kings home floor. Westbrook went for 32 in the Thunder 104-92 win.

Sacramento

Holding a 3-7 record over their last 10 games, the Kings look to get back into the win column and find a way back into the Western Conference playoff race.

Sitting 5.5 behind Phoenix for the 8th seed, the Kings will look to veterans DeMarcus Cousins and Darren Collison to lead them.

Cousins has struggled as of late as he has not reached the 20 point mark in his last 3 games. Averaging 23.5 points a game on the season, the Kings will need him to get going quick if they hope to have any chance Wednesday night.

If Cousins starts slow Wednesday, the Sacramento offense will need to picked up by Rudy Gay. Gay is scoring 20.5 points a game and recorded a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds in the Kings defeat against the Thunder back on December 16th.

At home this season the Kings are 8-10 S.U. and just 5-11-2 ATS.

NBA Basketball Handicapping Trends:

  • Thunder are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
  • Thunder are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 road games.
  • Kings are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Wednesday games.
  • Kings are 1-9-2 ATS in their last 12 home games.

Free 4* NBA Basketball Pick: Oklahoma City -7

After getting embarrassed last time out against the Warriors, Durant and Westbrook have to be ready to get back out there and avenge their performance.

Oklahoma City 108, Sacramento 94

Expect a big game from those two in a Thunder rout.
