Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts Preview

However, the Colts are at home and the Titans have an issue at the QB position with Matt Hasselbeck a question mark and if he cannot go rookie Jake Locker will get his first start of the season. NFL lines have the visiting Titans as 6.5-point favorites with a total of 41.

In their last games the Titans lost to the Saints 22-17 and the Colts lost to the Baltimore Ravens 24-10.

On the season the Titans are 7-6 ATS with an O/U record of 4-9 and the Colts are 4-9 ATS and they have an O/U record of 7-6.

Earlier this season the Titans beat the Colts 27-10.

Either Hasselbeck or Locker will be facing a Colts’ pass defense that ranks 21st in the league. Locker has played well when he has come in for Hasselbeck and in last week’s loss he passed for 282 yards with a TD and for the season he has 3 TD and 0 INT.

Titans’ RB Chris Johnson had been on fire before the Saints game rushing for 343 yards with 2 TD in the previous 2 games, but against New Orleans only had 23 rushing yards. He struggled in first game of the season against the Colts, but he may get back on track this time around facing an Indy run defense that only rank 30th in the league. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Colts’ QB Dan Orlovsky is making his 3rd straight start and he played decent in the loss to the Ravens going 17/37 for 136 yards and a TD. While he does not have a great WR corps he will be going up against a Titans’ pass defense that ranks 20th in the league and gave up 323 passing yards to the Saints.

Whoever has been under center for the Colts has not got much help from a rushing attack that ranks 28th in the league. Last week they only had a grand total of 50 rushing yards and RB’s Donald Brown and Delone Carter have to run the ball in this game and last week faced a stellar run defense of the Ravens, but this week face a 20th ranked Tennessee run defense.

Betting Trends

The Titans are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a road favorite, and have an Under record of 7-0 in their last 7 games.

The Colts are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games, and have an Under record of 5-1 in their last 6 games.

Jason’s Pick: While Johnson struggled last week and in the first meeting against the Colts I think he will have a big game this Sunday. The Colts nightmare season will continue, as Tennessee will win this game and cover the 6.5-point spread.
