Baylor (6-3) is bowl eligible and they can improve the bowl they do play in if they can score a home upset this Saturday night. NCAAF lines have Oklahoma as 15.5-point away favorites with a high total of 74.5.
In their last games Oklahoma beat Texas A&M 41-25 and Baylor needed a 2-point conversion stop to beat Kansas 31-30 in OT.
QB Landry Jones and the Sooners’ passing offense took a big blow last week, as leading WR Ryan Broyles was lost for the season with a knee injury. However, all is not lost, as Jones has other receiving options, he will have time in the pocket in this game with an offensive line that has only given up 3 sacks, and the Baylor pass defense only ranks 80th in the nation. The Sooners rushed for 149 yards last week with RB Roy Finch rushing for 99 yards. OU does not have the best rushing offense, but they may look like it in this game since Baylor nearly gave up 300 rushing yards in the win over Kansas and they only rank 112th in the nation defending the run.
With the defensive problems that the Bears have they may, and by may I mean must, get a huge game from stud QB Robert Griffin the III. He has passed for a ton of yards, has a great WR corps, and also is the teams’ 2nd leading rusher. The OU pass defense is good, but not great, but what they do have is a stellar pass rush that leads the nation with 3.78 sacks per game.
Baylor’s offensive line must play well in this game protecting Griffin and opening up holes for him and RB Terrance Ganaway (889 yards 10 TD).
Last season in Oklahoma’s 53-24 home win over Baylor Jones had a huge game while Griffin only passed for 124 yards with 1 TD and 2 INT and if that happens again the Bears will get blown out again.
